Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived alongside 12 other kids. Her imaginative mind helped her escape from the pressures of daily life. Before she was able to read and write she was making up her own songs. Once she had her first guitar at age 8, she started to perform on radio stations in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her first album was recorded within the same calendar year on Gold Band Records, a small independent label. Although she became an established local celebrity while at High School, she knew her dreams were much bigger. In the exact day that she graduated from high school, in 1964. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) as well as Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host at the time, was in search for a female singer for his show. Parton joined RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She took on the role in 1967. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 because her solo albums like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton's hit song, I'll Never Love You (for Wagoner), reached the number. #1 spot following their split. In 1974, Parton's song I Will Always Love You peaked at the No.
